This red wine from the Due Palme winery in Puglia is made from a blend of 50% Primitivo and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The grapes are grown in the winery's vineyards located between the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto on loamy-clay soils rich in gravel. After the grapes are harvested by hand in early September, fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23-25°C for about ten days. The final stage requires a short period of ageing in American oak and then in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has a very intense ruby red colour; the bouquet is well defined by fruity and spicy notes, as well as balsamic notes. On the palate, it impresses with its good structure and long-lasting finish.
