The Pinot Nero “Semel Pater” of the Anselmet Valle d'Aosta winery is the outstanding wine of the Company: it is a tribute to his father Renato, produced in a limited edition. The grape variety used is Pinot Noir in purity, grown on the sandy morainic soils of the municipality of Saint Pierre, western Aosta Valley. After the manual harvest of the grapes, the must ferments in steel for 10-15 days and then it is placed in barrique for 18 months.
Characteristics of this red wine
To the organoleptic examination it presents itself as a wine with a brilliant garnet red color; the nose is a triumph of spices, with pepper and cloves above all, then moving on to fruity hints of cherry and berries. In the mouth it remains savory and spicy, enriched with delicate tannins and a nice drink.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this red wine
This Aostan red wine goes well with both white and red meats; try it with game and aged cheeses. To be served at a temperature of 16-18°C in a fairly large glass.
