The result of a refined blend of grapes, mainly Chardonnay and a touch of Pinot Noir. A wine that expresses the desire to embark on new paths, courageous and determined, with an expressive and elegant character like the most famous of the Frescobaldi ancestors, the great-great-grandmother Leonia who inspired the birth of this sparkling wine in the innovative choices of winemaking. She was the one who planted French vines in Pomino, vinifying them in the first Italian gravity winery, receiving the gold medal at the Paris Expo in 1878 Lamberto Frescobaldi at the Pomino Castle. The refinement is carried out for part of the blend in steel and for the remainder in barrique.
Characteristics of the Spumante Brut LEONIA POMINO Millesimato
The organoleptic examination shows a crystalline straw yellow color to the eye, with abundant golden reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. The scent is prolonged with refinement on the yeasts in the bottle gives at first impact an intense scent of bread crust and pastry, which immediately give way to a fresh bouquet of spring flowers with citrus notes. Followed by hints of nutmeg and thyme leaves. The taste is persistent effervescence and with a marked sapidity. The Leonia Brut is amazing when tasted, a perfect union of the lively Chardonnay which is recognized for its grapefruit notes, with the generous Pinot Noir which is highlighted in its body. Final with licorice aftertaste and pleasant alcoholic return.
