A fine wine from the renowned Tuscan Castelgiocondo winery. Vinified with 100% pure Merlot grapes. A wine that represents the powerful expression of Merlot, grown since 1991 on strong and arid clays from the Castelgiocondo Estate in Montalcino. The origin of the grapes is that of the estate in Castelgiocondo, in Montalcino. The soils are located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, and reach an extension of 12 hectares. The exposure of the vines is towards the South-West and the soil is characterized by clayey soils rich in limestone and mineral elements, with a slight prevalence of slightly alkaline. The plant reaches a density of 5'500 vines per second type of training with low spurred cordon. For the vinification the wine is left to macerate for 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation follows immediately after the alcoholic one. In selected aging containers, such as 90% new French oak barrels and 10% passage in second passage barriques. The refinement time is 24 months in barrique followed by a further refinement period of 12 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of Lamaione wine
The organoleptic test shows a wine with excellent characteristics. The color in the glass is intense and deep ruby red. The scent is rich on the nose and immediately strikes the great aromatic richness and complexity with notes of cassis, small black fruits and black cherries, with delicate notes of vanilla and coffee. The taste in the mouth is enveloping, with velvety tannins without any sharpness and the intense aromas of black berry fruit fill the palate with a very long persistence.

It goes perfectly with long cooking dishes such as braised meat, stew or roasted beef fillet. Also excellent with medium-aged cheeses. The optimal serving temperature is 20°C.
