Lagrein DOC Hofstatter

This wine is made by Lagrein grapes and it is honoured by the Alto Adige DOC certification. The vines are cultivated on a clay, pebbly and thin sand soil. The grapes are destemmed and the must ferments for about 10 days under temperature control. During the fermentation it is constantly in contact with the peels. At the end of the fermentation the temperature get higher and there is a better extraction of the colors and the tastes. This sensational wine of the Trento Alto Adige tradition coming from the Termeno and Ora vineyards is made with the Lagrein of Hofstätter grapes and it is a red didactic wine with all the best characteristics of a  wine of this region. It has to mature in steel and it is balanced, typical and pleasant.

Characteristics of this red Lagrein wine

It has a bright ruby red color. The smell is balanced between intensity and complexity with spicy, little wood fruits and violet aromas together with the immediate, clean, charming and fresh fragrance. The taste is harmonic, lightly tannic, warm and long. It is also velvety and round with a great persistence at the end.

The red Lagrein of Trentino is a meal wine. It is perfect with game, red meats and aged cheeses. The ideal service temperature is 16-18°C. It must be served in a Ballon wine glass to guarantee the diffusion of the fragrances.
