This white wine made with Vermentino grapes represents the main product of the Lunae company. A prestigious wine for its name and its character, internationally renowned and characterized by a balance between structure and freshness. The Grigia Vermentino Bianco DOC label is produced with 100% Vermentino grapes. The cultivation vineyards are located in Colli di Luni in the La Spezia province. The particular soil typology and the microclimate allows the production of excellent wines. The cultivation soils are pebbly and rich of stones and together with the sea wind make the production unique. They are cultivated with the Guyot method. The manual grape harvest takes place between September and the first decade of October when the bunches are put in wooden boxes of 20 kg. There is the fermentation in steel tanks where the must is kept under temperature control. Then the aging to guarantees pureness and clearness in stainless steel tanks and then it is bottled for 4 months.
Characteristics of the Vermentino Colli di Luni "Etichetta Grigia" DOC
It has a young straw yellow color with thin green reflections very light, clear and bright. The scent is intense, persistent, fine and elegant with hawthorn, grapefruit, renetta apple, white peach aromas with a substratum flavor of acacia honey. The taste is fresh and balanced. It makes you understand its potential if aged. This is remarked in the color, which changes to a more amber one, and in the scent which has more white pulp fruits or the tropical one aromas.
Suggested pairings with this Vermentino
It is perfect for sea food. It is perfect with testaroli with pesto, refilled in the Ligure syle, the anchovy pies or with stuffed squid. It is perfect with braised cod and with roasted fish in general. Amazing with the codfish. It has to be served at 10°C in a high and tapered wine glass.
