Merlot RISERVA "VIGNA KASTELAZ" DOC Elena Walch

This sensational red wine of Trentino is produced by Elena Walch with 100% Merlot grapes. The vineyard rises in the area of the crü “Vigna Kastelaz”, above the village of Termeno, located 400 meters above the sea level. Steep lands with southern orientation. 6500 plants per hectare cultivated on soils mainly composed by limestone and clay. The wine making process considers 10 days maceration in steel in contact with skins, followed by malolactic fermentation in wood. 18 mon6 hours maceration are followed by soft pressing and static decanting, through the reduction of the temperature. The fermentation is managed in steel at a controlled temperature of 18°C. After that, a long aging on lees (“sur lie”).

Intense purple red colour. Its perfume is wide and complex, with hints of spices, fruits, like wild berries and mature black currant to reach toasted sensations of tobacco. The taste is characterized by a great personality that explodes in structure, balance, elegant tannins and minerality.

Perfect in every situation, especially for great happenings. Excellent with game and aged cheeses. It has to be served at 16°C in a wide wine glass that helps oxygenation.
