Wine description
From a blend of 50% Primitivo and 50% Negroamaro grapes comes this Apulian red wine from Tenute Girolamo Winery: the grapes are grown in the company's vineyards located in Valle d'Itria, the “land of Trulli”. After manual harvesting, the grapes are softly macerated and fermented in steel; the final stage of ageing takes place in French oak barriques for a good 16 months and finally in the bottle for a further 6 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has an intense ruby red colour with violet hues. The olfactory profile is decidedly fruity, with olfactory notes of cherry, blackberry and blueberry. notes of spices, vanilla and cocoa are also well delineated. On the palate it is striking for its good persistence and tannic texture.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Excellent with red meat, game and mature cheese. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
