Wine description
This Apulian red wine from Cantina Tenute Girolamo is made from 100% Primitivo grapes, grown in the company's vineyards located in the Itria Valley: an iconic place between Bari and the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto, also known as the “land of Trulli”. After manual harvesting of the grapes, the grapes are softly macerated and fermented in steel. The final stage of ageing takes 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by a further 3 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has an intense ruby red colour with garnet veins. The bouquet is reminiscent of currants, blackberries, herbs and spices; notes of tobacco and cocoa are also well delineated. On the palate it impresses with a good balance between acidity and structure, delicate tannic texture and a pleasantly fruity and spicy aftertaste.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Try it with tasty, elaborate first courses and all meat dishes. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
