Wine description
Directly from the Valle d'Itria, otherwise known as the “land of Trulli”, comes this Apulian red wine from the Tenute Girolamo Winery: the grapes used for its production and harvested by hand during the course of the harvest are 100% Primitivo. After the soft maceration and subsequent fermentation in steel, the final stage of ageing takes place: this is done in French and American oak barriques for 12 months and finally in the bottle for a further 6 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has an intense ruby red colour. The olfactory profile is fruity and revolves around cherry, wild berries, plum and dark chocolate. The palate is velvety, soft and with good persistence.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Excellent with red meat, game and mature cheese. serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
