The Rosso di Montalcino Castello Banfi DOC is produced in the south of Montalcino. The soils are at 100 meters above the sea level and it has limestones and stones. It is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes and the cultivation method is the cordon spur pruning with a density of 4000 trees per hectare and a profit of 70 quintals. The grapes are macerate under temperature control in wood and steel for 7-10 days. After and aging period of 10-12 months part in barriques and part in oak barrels there is the aging refinement of 6 months.
Characteristics of the Rosso di Montalcino Castello Banfi DOC
It has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The smell is intense, fresh, fruity with violet, cherry and prune aromas. The taste is kind, large, soft and long.
