From the vinification of 100% Nero d'Avola grapes, strictly from organic cultivation, and with no chemical intervention. The origin is that of Sicily. Harvest takes place by hand during the first ten days of October. Vinification involves indigenous yeasts and 25 days maceration on the skins. Aging is 22 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels then 2 months in the bottle. No filtration.
Nero D’Avola Siccagno Occhipinti’s features
A dark ruby red color in appearance. The scent expresses all the Mediterranean beauty of Occhipinti wines. Fruity notes of plum, blackberry, currant. Hints of tobacco, licorice, myrtle. Taste is warm and enveloping, elegant and reactive. It closes with a hint of acidity, never aggressive and indeed perfectly balanced with a very velvety tannin.
