This Friulian red wine from Monviert Winery comes from pure Merlot grapes: a grape variety native to southwestern France that has found ideal soil and climate in Friuli, so much so that it has become the most widespread red grape variety. The grapes are gently destemmed after manual harvesting, with maceration for 4-6 days to extract the maximum concentration of colorants, tannins and aromas of the skins. Alcoholic fermentation then begins and malolactic fermentation is triggered immediately afterwards by the addition of selected bacteria. Final stage of steel refinement for 3-4 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia
It has a deep ruby red color with purple highlights. The olfactory profile is particularly intense and resembles blackberry, raspberry and black cherry. On the palate it is soft, with pleasant harmony.
Recommended pairings with this Friulian red wine
Excellent with white, red meats and semi-seasoned cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
