The DOC Greco Bianco is one of the 10 denomination of Calabria with this certification. The denomination exists since the 80’s for the “Greco Bianco” vine. The DOC certification is reserved to those wines produced with at least the 95% of the Greco Bianco grapes. The remaining 5% comes from grapes allowed in Calabria and in particular in the Reggio Calabria province. The DOC area is very little. The grapes used for the production of the “Greco di Bianco DOC” has to be produced in the Bianco town and in part also in the Casignana town both of them in the Reggio Calabria province. The production territories are rocky, calcareous and sandy. There is an alternation between alluvial coats and clay and the ground is very fine and deep. The cultivation are located at 250 meters above the sea level. The cultivation method is the modified Guyot cordon. The harvest is handmade. Once in the cellar, the grapes are slightly pressed and the must through the settling is cleared. The production process is made statically and cold (room temperature). The additional selected yeasts lasts 25 days at 18°C.

The color of the Lamezia Greco Bianco DOC is a light straw yellow. The scent is balanced with some apricots, citrons and yellow apple aromas. The taste is harmonic with a right acidity and freshness always pleasant. The aftertaste is fruity. It has a great personality and character.

It is perfect with fresh courses such as pasta and rise salad and the fish in every version. Especially suggested the Calabria food tradition which exalts all its sides.
