We have to thank Mastroberardino for the recovery and the success of the ancient vine variety “Greco di Tufo”, that was close to extinction. “Novaserra” is the result of a careful selection of the grapes and has become a “classic”, with its unique organoleptic complexity. In the label, you can find some details of a picture of Raffaele de Rosa, realized on one of the arches of the aging room. The denomination that this prestigious wine enhances is Greco di Tufo DOCG. It is produced with 100% Greco di Tufo grapes. The estate Montefusco and its vineyards have a south-east orientation. The soils here are rich of clay, limestone and volcanic traces. The lands are located 550 meters on the sea level. The espalier with Guyot training produces, with its 4000 stumps, around 60 quintals per hectare. The vineyard is 15 years old and its harvest is managed manually at the end of October. The wine making process is the traditional white one, with steel containers, controlled temperature and no contact between peels and must. The aging in the bottle lasts for 4 months.
Features of white wine “Greco di Tufo Novaterra DOCG”
Intense straw yellow colour enriched by a fabulous bouquet that recalls apricot, pear, apple, peach, citrus fruits, green almond, sage and minerals. Its taste is sour but balanced by structure and a great richness.
Recommended food pairings while tasting this Greco di Tufo from Campania
Perfect with soups and white meats, but also with fish and crustaceans. It has to be served at 14°C in a high, wide wine glass that helps the diffusion of the perfumes.
