The renowned Donnafugata winery, famous all over the world, produces this fresh and interesting wine of Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG. The grapes used for the vinification are those of Nero d'Avola and Frappato. The production area is that of Eastern Sicily on the northern side of Etna. After the harvest, the vinification requires a careful fermentation in steel, at a temperature of 25-28ºC for 10 days. Then for the aging, we proceed with a passage in stainless steel tank for 8 months and further 7 months in bottle before marketing.
Characteristics of the Floramundi DOCG
The aspect evidenced by the organoleptic analysis, this wine has an intense ruby red color with bright violet reflections. The bouquet is intense with fruity aromas among which the notes of black cherry and plum stand out; the bouquet opens with delicate floral nuances and characteristic spicy notes of black pepper. The taste is sustained by freshness and softness that make it juicy and pleasant to drink. The tannins are fine and well integrated. Donnafugata’s Floramundi expresses the harmonious balance that can reach the Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
