This Brunello of Montalcino of the Altesino di Toscana winery is the ambassador of the Italian quality wines in the world and it was the first one that obtained the DOCG certification. There are used 100% Sangiovese grapes. The fermentation is traditional, the aging lasts 4 years whose 2 years in oak barrels. Finally, there is the bottle aging for 4 months. The proof is 13-14%. It can be aged up to 20 years.
Characteristics of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wine
The Brunello has a bright ruby red color almost garnet when aged. The smell is intense, clean, pleasant and refined with violet, tobacco, chocolate aromas and vanilla hints. The taste reminds the smell aromas with a full body, good tannins and an important structure.

It is ideal for braised red meat or with aged, soft and musty cheeses. It has to be served at 18°C in a wide wine glass.
