This fabulous wine is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, cultivated in the IGT area “Alpi Retiche”, in the district of Sondrio. The harvest starts after the first decade of October. During the winemaking, only the best grapes are selected for the pressing, that means that the ruined fruits or those hit by the mould are immediately rejected. After the elimination of stalks, the pressed grapes are poured into steel containers where the alcoholic fermentation starts. 6 days maceration on skins at 25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation and 8 months aging in the same inox containers. The maturation continues in the bottle.
Features of this wine from Valtellina
The organoleptic analysis shows a shiny ruby red colour, really clear. Its fresh perfume recalls pleasant red fruits like cherry, currant and strawberry, followed by floral aromas of violet and rose. The taste is fresh, medium-structured and pleasant.
