This wine is made by nebbiolo-chiavennasca 95%, and 5% of other local varieties. The grapes used belong to the following cru: Minè, Longoni and Chiesa Sassella. The cultivation method is the Guyot with a density of 3500 trees on pebbly and thin soils almost dry located at 400-450 meters. The profit is 65 quintals per hectare. The manual grape harvest takes place in October and the maceration lasts 8 days. After a short resting period in steel, the wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels of 35-52 hl.
Characteristics of the sassella of the Nino Negri winery
It has a bright and deep garnet color. The smell is complex with strawberry aromas together with the rose and the mature black cherry. The taste is full, soft and sustained with a good sapid aroma, elegance and harmony. There is a pleasant end of dry prune and spices for long time.
