From the vinification of Sangiovese grapes to which complementary grapes are added such as black Malvasia, Colorino, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Nipozzano, a refined Tuscan estate produces this sensational historic wine from the company produced at Castello Nipozzano which is located about 35 km north-east of Florence. It is the symbol of the Tuscan winemaking tradition; it is complex and maintains a precise link with the style of the territory. The origin is that of the Chianti Rùfina area where the Nipozzano Castle is located. Once pressed and de-stemmed, the grapes are macerated for about 25 days, with frequent pumping over. The malolactic fermentation is left to take place immediately after the alcoholic one. Then follows an aging of 25 months where part of the wine refines in wooden barrels, part instead in stainless steel vats.
Characteristics of the NIPOZZANO RISERVA Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG
This wine has a purplish red color. The scent is immediately bright and straightforward, of good intensity and complexity, where floral notes and clear hints of small red berries such as raspberry, blackberry and blueberry prevail, followed by toasted and spicy notes of tea leaves, nutmeg and coffee. The taste is characterized by a warm, soft and remarkably fresh entry into the mouth. It is elegant and enveloping with fine tannins and well integrated into the structure with a long and persistent finish.
