Fantinel
Friuli Venezia Giulia is a border area, which has always been a meeting point between Italian, Austrian and Slavic cultures; from a viticultural point of view, it is one of the most interesting and important areas for enology, with peaks of rare excellence that particularly concern the production of white wines. In this area, precisely in Tauriano di Spilimbergo in the province of Pordenone, there is one of the most representative realities of Friuli, the Fantinel Company, founded in 1969 by Mario Fantinel. Man with a dazzling smile, restaurateur and hotelier with a passion for wine, Mario decided in 1969 to buy the first vineyards in Collio, thus starting his wine adventure. An exciting story right from the start, also thanks to the inclusion in the company of the sons Gianfranco, Luciano and Loris; year after year the company has expanded until today, where the reins of command are entrusted to the third generation, represented by Marco, Stefano and Mariaelena. Fantinel is spread over an area of about 300 hectares of land, divided between the renowned DOC Grave, Prosecco and Collio; here are grown both fine native grapes, - friulano, ribolla giallo, refosco dal peduncolo rosso, verduzzo -, and international vines, - sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay, cabernet franc -, taking care to support the natural rhythms of each vine, respecting the right vegetative cycle with an approach always aimed at eco-sustainability, to be sought also with the inclusion of cutting-edge technological solutions. Today Fantinel produces an average of 4,500,000 bottles, divided between the "Tenuta Sant’Helena", "Borgo Tesis" lines and a range dedicated to sparkling wines and prosecco; the winery has become one of the most prestigious in the whole region, increasing the popularity of Friulian wines all over the world. Passion, tradition and innovation: this is what lies behind the production of Fantinel labels.
