This red cru wine from the Piedmontese winery Giovanni Rosso comes from the vineyards of Serralunga d'Alba. The pure Nebbiolo grapes grow on south/south-east facing vineyards at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level. After the October harvest, soft pressing and fermentation in contact with the skins in concrete tanks take place for about 25 days. Throughout this period, daily pumping over and délestage are carried out to improve oxygenation and intensify the colour. The ageing phase takes place in French oak for 18 to 36 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a garnet red colour. The bouquet has notes of wild berries, ripe cherries, violets, tobacco and liquorice. On the palate, it is deep, with an enveloping tannic texture.
Recommended pairings with this Piedmontese red wine
Perfect with red meat such as Piedmontese Fassona ribeye, braised meats and roasts. Also excellent with game and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C.
