Stradivario originates from the most important cru of the Bava winery in Cocconato, in the Asti area: the Bricco della Pieve vineyard is, in fact, a historic vineyard in Cocconato, situated on the slopes of a hill on which stands the little church of the Madonna della Neve. It is here that the winery has always cultivated a Barbera vineyard, and since the 1980s, the wine produced here has borne the name of the most famous violin. The vinification of 100% Barbera grapes involves short but intense macerations at rising temperatures until the colour reaches its fullest expression. After a slow decanting process, the wine is placed in new barriques for 18 months and finally bottled.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a very intense ruby red colour with purple hues. The nose reveals notes of black cherry, raspberry, candied apple and white pepper. On the palate, it impresses with its great structure, a result of barrel ageing.
