The Barbera d’Alba of the Massucco winery is produced in Castagnito in the Roero in the renowned production winery. This Barbera is marked for its intense ruby red color similar to the cardinal dresses. The vines exposition which are located at 350 meters above the sea level is South-west so they are constantly under the sun light. The soil is mostly clay with evident marl and sandy layers. The vines are cultivated in espalier and the pruning process is the French Guyot. The average annual profit is 80 quintals. There is a pressing moment followed by the destemming of the bunches with a constant batonnage in steel tanks during the alcoholic fermentation. The oak barrels refinement lasts 1 year.
