This red wine from Prà Winery comes from the vineyards of Mezzane and Tregnago near Verona. It offers the perfect balance between power and complexity, resulting in a wine that is pleasantly smooth on the palate. The grape varieties used to produce this Amarone della Valpolicella are Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, harvested in early October. The best carefully selected bunches are placed in crates for two months and then subjected to crushing and destemming: once alcoholic fermentation has taken place, malolactic fermentation follows for about 15 days in steel. The product thus obtained rests for 2 years in Allier tonneaux and barriques, before being blended in 20-hectolitre Allier oak barrels. The ageing process is completed with a further year of ageing in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Veneto wine
It has a very intense ruby red colour and an intoxicating bouquet of cherry, plum, cocoa and liquorice. On the palate, there is a pleasant balance between tannins, savouriness and freshness.
Recommended pairings with this Amarone della Valpolicella
