This Soave Classico Monte Grande from Prà Winery, a cru from Monteforte d'Alpone, comes from the family's historic vineyard. This white wine is made from a blend of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes harvested from vineyards located 150 metres above sea level. The Trebbiano is harvested in mid-September, while the Garganega is cut from the vines during the first waning moon of September. After destemming and crushing, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in steel. The final stage of ageing takes place in large 30-hectolitre Allier oak barrels for a period of 10 months.
Characteristics of this Veneto wine
It has a straw yellow colour and a pleasantly citrusy bouquet. A distinctive feature of this Soave is its mineral strength, which gives it a certain elegance. On the palate, it has a long finish of almond and vanilla.
Recommended pairings with this white wine
Excellent with shellfish, grilled fish, savoury pies and white meat dishes. Serve at a temperature of 10-12°C.
