“Apparita” by Castello di Ama is a Merlot with a great elegance and a prestigious structure. Ama introduced the variety Merlot in the vineyard “Bellavista”, located 490 meters on the sea level, between 1982-1985. The plants found in the soils rich of limestone and clay, the perfect territory for their growth, and gave life to this fabulous Toscana IGT “L’Apparita”. The aging is managed in new and used oak barriques. The brave choice of Marco Pallanti created this wine that is considered one of the best Merlot in the world, even if compared to the French ones. He was able to demonstrate through this wine, that one of the most prestigious Merlot is produced in Tuscany. Refined and Unforgettable 100% Merlot.

Features of “L’ Apparita”, Tuscany

The aspect shows a deep purple red full of deep purple reflections. The perfume is rich of blackberry, spices, black pepper and wisteria. At the end we can recognize some balsamic sensations mixed to vanilla. The taste is soft and intense, with faint tannins that otherwise are present and defined. Its freshness is great and the final, strong and persistent, is really elegant.

Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine produced by Castello di AMA

Perfect with red meat and game, especially roasted and rich of spices. In our opinion, the best marriage is with stewed deer. It has to be served at 20°C in a wide wine glass that allows the diffusion of the aromas and the correct oxygenation.
