Fruit of the vinification of the Lagrein vine in purity, selected from a precious 50 years old vine raised with the traditional pergola method. The origin is the classic one of Alto Adige, the vineyards are located in the classic area of Gries, in Bolzano, on deep alluvial soils composed of granite and porphyry, in an ideal microclimate favored by the position in the Bolzano basin. Vinification involves at least 10 days of fermentation on the skins with careful pumping over of the cap and subsequent maceration. The young wine then passes into new and used barriques where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging for about 16 months; meticulous filtration follows before bottling and subsequent aging in the bottle for 12 months.
Lagrein Riserva Gries Colterenzio’s features
A full ruby red color with light purple hues. The perfume on the nose expresses important notes of violet, blackberry and black cherry and light hints of roasting, coffee and cocoa. In the mouth it is powerful, soft, enveloping. The taste is characterized by a good freshness and a young tannin. It closes with a nice finish, long and with a bitter aftertaste.
