“Refosco Bottaz” Venica&Venica is produced with 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso. After the harvest, planned in the middle of October, and the soft pressing with the elimination of stalks, start maceration and the fermentation: 12 days in wood containers where is developed the malolactic fermentation too. Then the wine is poured in little barrels made of oak, where it continues its aging for 19 months. After the assembly of the barriques starts the bottling. The maturation in the bottle last a year, but it can mature even more to reach the perfect moment to drink it.
Features of “Refosco Bottaz DOC” produced by Venica winery
The organoleptic exam reveals an intense garnet red colour. The scent is herbal and recalls wild blackberry and undergrowth. Its taste is full of tannins, structured, persistent and with a pleasant final.
Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine
Perfect with fat meats and structured second courses, generally baked or stewed. Excellent with baked pork. It has to be served at 18°C in a high, tapered wine glass that allows the oxygenation.
