In the name, the Refosco delle Venezie IGT "Grandarella", labelled Masi, wants to remember the grape dried on racks, which in local dialect is called "Grandarella". Complex and robust, it is raised in oak barrels of Allier and Slavonia. It comes from Tenute Strà del Milione di Grave del Friuli, and is made from refosco grapes left to dry slightly. Soft and structured, it is a wine to try as an alternative to the more classic Amarone. The vines used for its production are those of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.
Characteristics of the red wine
This sensational and innovative red wine from the Veneto region has an intense ruby color that is sometimes impenetrable. The scent has hints of ripe berries that combine with spicy nuances and hints of cinnamon, creating a nose that also perceives pleasant nuances of aromatic herbs. The taste on the palate is broad, full-bodied and complex, well balanced and corresponding to the nose. Excellent persistence.
Matching
A perfect wine with red meats, is to be tried with stewed beef tail. The optimal serving temperature is 16 ºC in a large glass that allows the aromas to flow and leaves the wine well oxygenated.
