From Venica winery, in the area of Collio, a Cabernet Franc worked only in steel to preserve the features of its variety. A little bit aggressive in its youth, it becomes softer and more delicate after a few years of rest in the bottle. A red wine that is perfect for dinners with friends, without being “too much”. Produced with 100% Cabernet France. The maceration of the grapes lasts for 8 days. During this process, the temperature never goes over 24°C. 19 months aging in steel, where the wine completes its malolactic fermentation.
Features of the red wine “Cabernet Franc DOC”
Intense ruby red colour enriched by a fruity perfume that recalls cut grass. Its taste is structured, quite alcoholic and is mainly characterized by herbs. With the aging it becomes less aggressive and the sensations leave the herbs to recall tannins and softness.
Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine produced by Venica
Excellent with roasted meat, game and aged cheeses. It has to be served at 16°C in a high, tapered wine glass that helps the oxygenation.
