A red wine from Tenuta Santa Maria in Toscany. The result of a refined blend of grapes that see the prevalent presence of Sangiovese and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. Pian di Remole Rosso is a wine born from the long wine tradition of the Frescobaldi family. It is characterized by the aromas of red fruits, it is characterized by agreeability and balance as well as a good persistence in the finish. A period of aging in wood gives it structure and harmony. The vinification provides for a period of maceration of the skins in the must of 9 days, followed by malolactic maceration, which is left immediately after alcoholic fermentation. The aging finally takes place in stainless steel tanks for 5 months with a short passage in wood and 2 months in bottle.
Characteristics of Pian di Remolo red wine by Frescobaldi Winery
The aspect evidenced by the organoleptic examination highlights the bright and glossy purple red color. The nose has intense fruity notes of blackberry jam and black cherry, followed by spicy hints of black pepper and balsamic notes of sage and eucalyptus. The taste is characterized by a good freshness, but pleasantly soft and therefore very balanced, with a good permanence in the finish.
