This red wine from the Pico Maccario winery comes from pure Nebbiolo grapes grown in the calcareous marl soils rich in sands, located about 250 m above sea level. During the manual harvest, the best bunches are subjected to crushing-destemming with subsequent maceration for a minimum duration of 20 days. Aging requires 18 months of rest in 500-liter French oak tonneaux and another 12 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of this wine from Piedmont
The organoleptic test shows a ruby red color with garnet shades; the olfactory bouquet is very intense and complex and recalls fruity notes of cherry, tobacco and cocoa. On the palate it strikes for the strong presence, although well balanced, of tannins.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this red wine
