Barolo Aleste from Sandrone Winery has been created as a tribute to the younger generations of the family: Aleste is in fact a combination of the first names of Luciano Sandrone's grandchildren, Alessia and Stefano. The pure Nebbiolo grapes are harvested manually and then undergo spontaneous fermentation. This is followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation in steel, while the ageing process takes place in 500-litre French oak barrels. Further refinement in the bottle for 18 months.
Characteristics of this Barolo Aleste
It has a bright ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is reminiscent of plum, cherry and oriental spices, with floral notes of rose petals and hibiscus. On the palate, it is intense and juicy, with fruity flavours of cherry and blackberry and creamy tannins.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Piedmont
It is a particularly long-lived wine, perfect with red meat dishes such as stews and braised meats or with cheese-based dishes. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C.
