Alastro Menfi DOC PLANETA

Alastro takes its name from a wild flower that grows around our cellar "Planeta". It is a blend composed by 70% Grecanico, joined to aromatic grapes, 15% Grillo and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Its delicate structure recalls tropical fruits, fresh citrus fruits and white flowers. It praises the denomination Menfi DOC. The fermentation at 15° starts after the soft pressing and the static decanting of the juice. The aging on lees in inox tanks lasts for 6 months.

Features of the Alastro Menfi DOC wine

Straw yellow colour enriched by perfumes that recall cedar, peach, litchi and wild white flowers. Its taste is creamy and silky, with sensations of white melon.

Its fabulous contrast between sweetness and minerality makes him perfect with simple starters like warm seafood salad. Nevertheless, it is the perfect companion even for complex preparations, like asian food, spicy or sweet and sour dishes. Excellent with veggy and mediterranean kitchen. You can drink it young or wait 4-5 years; Grecanico surprises for its evolution capacity. It has to be served at 8°C, in a high, tapered wine glass.
