LE MORETTE
Cantina Le Morette is a historic winery in the Lugana DOC area, located in Peschiera del Garda, in the strip of land between Lake Garda and the Frassino Lake. The company was founded in the 1960s by Gino Zenato, initially as a nursery specializing in the production of vine cuttings for viticulture. From the very beginning, nursery production was combined with wine production, allowing the family to develop a deep understanding of the vine and the area. In the 1980s, the company's leadership passed to Valerio Zenato, who definitively oriented the winery towards quality production, enhancing wines characterized by elegance, minerality, and a strong territorial identity. Today, the third generation, represented by Fabio and Paolo Zenato, continues the family journey with a modern vision but deeply linked to the agricultural tradition of lower Garda. One of the peculiarities of Le Morette is its connection with the Ash Lake, a protected natural area and UNESCO site, where the “black ducks” nest, particular diving ducks that inspired the company symbol. This element represents the winery's deep respect for biodiversity and the natural balance of the territory. The production philosophy is based on environmental sustainability, integrated agriculture and meticulous care of the vineyard. The clay and mineral soils of the Lugana area allow for the production of structured, savoury and long-lived white wines, particularly from Turbiana grapes. The new winery, inaugurated in 2013, was designed according to eco-sustainable criteria and represents the encounter between technological innovation and family tradition. Today Le Morette is considered one of the most representative realities of Lugana DOC, appreciated for wines that express freshness, minerality and elegance, always maintaining a strong connection with the Garda area and the local wine culture.
