Sicilia Rosso Ramione DOC BIO was born from the union of Nero d'Avola and Merlot from the estates of Noto and Santa Cristina Gela. The grapes, grown organically, are harvested manually and vinified separately to enhance the characteristics of each grape variety. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel with traditional reassemblies and fulling. Subsequently the wine ages for about twelve months in French oak barriques, partly new and partly second-pass, then completing the evolution in the bottle
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
It has an intense and bright ruby red color. On the nose it expresses scents of blackberry, raspberry, wild cherry and small red fruits, accompanied by elegant spicy notes of vanilla, licorice, black pepper and nutmeg. On the palate it is soft, structured and balanced, with velvety tannins and a good freshness that accompanies a long, harmonious and persistent finish.
Recommended pairings with this Sicilian red wine
Ramione pairs very well with savory first courses, baked pastas, roasts, game, and grilled red meats. Also excellent with aged cheeses and rich dishes of Mediterranean and Sicilian tradition. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
