This label, symbol for the region and for the Marco Felluga winery, is the result of 100% vinification of the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grape variety. Refosco dal peduncolo rosso is an ancient autochthonous variety, born between Karst and Istria, whose presence has been attested since 1467. The origin is that of the town of Cormons with altitude of 80 meters above sea level. The vinification and fermentation of the grapes separated from the stalks are placed to macerate in large steel vats for a variable period depending on the year. During this phase delicate fulling operations allow to extract the noble components precursors of the taste and aroma of wine. The aging of the wine is left to age about twelve months in large and small oak barrels and for about six months in the bottle.
Characteristics of this red wine
The wine has an intense red color with slight garnet nuances. The scent is enveloping and intriguing, fresh and fruity and expresses some fragrances reminiscent of raspberry and wild blackberry, beautifully fused together. The taste in the mouth is a full correspondence of aromas. Good persistence in the finish.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this red wine
Excellent with red meat dishes, grilled red meat. The optimal serving temperature is 16 ºC.
