Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is a local wine variety of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This wine praises the DOC Denomination. The vineyards are trained with Guyot method on lands characterized by marls and sandstones of Eocenic origin. The importance of the vine variety is testified by Manzano in “Annali del Friuli” (1390). The wine-making considers the elimination of stalks and a period of maceration in steel. Frequent batonnages help the extractions of the aromas and of the colour. Then the soft pressing, followed by 12 months aging in small barrels made of French oak. After the bottling, the wine rests in thermo-conditioned rooms for at least 4 months.

The organoleptic exam shows an intense ruby red colour full of purple shades. Its perfume recalls blackberry, fir, juniper, liquorice, vanilla and sweet spices. The taste recalls cocoa, olive paste, seaweed and carnation.
