Made from a blend of Sangiovese and Alicante grapes, this red wine from Cantina Vignaioli Scansano is the most typical interpretation of Morellino di Scansano in Maremma. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 250-300 metres above sea level on soils consisting mainly of sandstone and silt. The grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness towards the end of September, then subjected to hot maceration for 12 hours followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 27°C. After a week, racking takes place and finally ageing on fine lees until malolactic fermentation in November.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
