This Calabrian red wine from Cantina Lento is born from a native blend of Magliocco, Greco Nero and Nerello grapes. Lamezia Rosso Riserva fully expresses the peculiarity of Calabrian wine culture. The vines are grown in Tenuta Caracciolo, a historic vineyard of the Lento family, located at approximately 100 meters above sea level and facing south, characterized by the presence of medium-textured, loose, and very deep soils. The grapes, selected and harvested when fully ripe, are subjected to destemming and subsequent fermentation with intense macerations lasting approximately 15 days. The flower wine, after aging for about two years in steel, continues its aging in French oak barriques for about 18 months, then in bottle for at least 6 months.
Characteristics of Lamezia Rosso Riserva wine
The color of Lamezia Rosso Riserva DOC from the Lento winery is a deep and intense ruby red. The scent is broad and enveloping, slightly spicy. To taste it is soft, balanced well structured. Notes of vanilla, coffee and cocoa are perceptible, all persistent. The refinement in barriques enhances the body, the balance and the pleasantness of the spicy notes. A wine that stands out for its strong regional identity
