MAROTTI CAMPI
Marotti Campi is a leading name in the world of Marche wine, synonymous of excellence with Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba. It is the oldest agricultural reality of Morro d'Alba and its activity is witnessed since the mid-nineteenth century, when the Marotti family bought the vast property, planted the first vines and built the large patronal villa, now surrounded by vineyards. Starting from 1991 Giovanni Marotti Campi inaugurated an ambitious renovation and modernization project which led, under the guidance of his son Lorenzo, to the foundation of the modern cellar. The vast estate of the Mariotti Campi family extends over 120 hectares, of which 53 are planted with vines. The vineyards are spread over several plots, which can be grouped into three main bodies, each different in terms of exposure, plant density and age of the vines, which varies from 10 to 35 years. In addition to Lacrima and Verdicchio, Montepulciano, Petiti Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon are produced too. Low environmental impact agriculture is practiced, without irrigation and limiting treatments to the bare minimum. In the cellar, the grapes are subjected to soft pressing with modern pneumatic presses and the vinification takes place in steel, with hyper-reduction procedures for white wines in order to avoid oxidation phenomena. Under the cellar, dug into the ground, there is the barrel room, where a small part of the wines produced are refined. Mariotti Campi's wines are distinguished by precision, stylistic clarity and excellent quality / price ratio. Harvest after harvest, the Mariotti Campi family managed to reach and maintain a high quality level, capable of combining the peculiarities of the territory with an elegant and impeccable style.
