Wine list | Valpolicella Classico Ripasso |
Valpolicella Classico Ripasso "La Groletta" DOC is a red wine produced by Allegrini winery. It’s considered by many the “little brother” of the more renewed Amarone. Grapes used to produce it are 65% Corvina Veronese, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara, while 10% comes from ancient vineyards owned by Cantina Allegrini. Winemaking consists of a fermentation of 7-8 days in stainless steel vessels, then wine is moved in other stainless steel vessels for 1 year. Bottle refinementlasts 6-7 months.
Characteristics of this red DOC wine "La Groletta"
It displays a deep ruby almost garnet red, with a subtle orange vein, due to the long ageing. Bouquet is surprisingly wide and fragrant, merging ginger flavour, pepper, plum and black cherry notes. It’s complex, balanced and slightly tannic in taste.
Recommended pairings while tasting this Valpolicella Ripasso wine
It can be perfectly paired with white and red meat. It should be served in a wide glass at ambient temperature. We suggest to uncork the bottle some minutes before serving.
