“Pian delle Vigne Vigna Ferrovia Brunello di Montalcino” is a wine that needs a careful wine making that only the technicians of Antinori winery can manage. The careful selection of the bunches during the pre-maturation phase and the favourable weather guarantee the arrival of perfect grapes in the cellar. The alcoholic fermentation starts after the soft pressing and the elimination of stalks. 24 days maceration on skins in inox and further aging in wood. The evolution starts in small barrels (5hl) to end in big ones (30hl) for 2 years and a half. In may the wine is bottled and rest in the bottles. “Vigna Ferrovia” is produced only in the best vintages. It comes from a small vineyard of 4 hectares located near the ancient station of Pian delle Vigne. Here the soil is characterized by clay and limestone. This wine is elegant, where the tannins are surrounded by freshness and sweetness. The first vintage was 2004 and it skipped 2005,2008 and 2011.

Intense ruby red colour, enriched by dark cherry hints, blackberry, currant, balsamic sensations and spices. The taste is rich, full with silky, well integrated tannins. The final is long and persistent. It recalls spices, cocoa and fruits.
