The Chardonnay of Feudo Arancio was born in the Acate area, in the province of Ragusa, in a context characterized by moderately poor soils and well exposed to the sun, ideal conditions for obtaining rich and aromatic grapes. It is a medium-early ripening variety, generally harvested towards the end of August. After harvesting, the grapes are vinified in the partial absence of oxygen, through the “semi-reduction” technique, which allows for the preservation of freshness and aromatic integrity. The must, after natural decantation, ferments at a controlled temperature in steel for several days. One part is refined in French oak barriques, while the remainder is continued in steel; the two components are then assembled and complete maturation together before filtration and bottling.
Characteristics of this Chardonnay Feudo Arancio
In the chalice it has a straw yellow colour with golden reflections. On the nose it expresses an intense and enveloping profile, characterised by notes of pineapple, tropical fruit and vanilla, enriched by shades of acacia honey resulting from partial aging in wood. In the mouth it stands out for balance and harmony, with a soft structure and a pleasant sensation of viscosity that balances a delicate acidity. The result is a round, elegant and well-structured wine, with good taste persistence.
Recommended pairings with this Sicilian white wine
This Chardonnay lends itself to accompanying appetizers based on fresh vegetables, raw fish and seafood, but also first courses with vegetables or white meats. Thanks to its structure, it also pairs well with creamier preparations, such as velvety soups. The ideal serving temperature is between 10 and 12 °C, so as to enhance its freshness and aromatic complexity.
