This Piedmontese red wine from the Pico Maccario winery comes from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from limestone soils rich in silt and sands, located at an altitude of 250-300 m asl. The manual harvest leads to the collection of the best bunches which are then subjected to crushing-destemming. The vinification takes place in the traditional way, with maceration lasting about 13-15 days. The refinement requires the stay in Slavonian oak barrels of 25 hl and 35 hl for a period of 18 months, followed by 12 months of refinement in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Piedmontese wine
The organoleptic test shows an intense ruby red color with garnet hues. The olfactory bouquet recalls floral aromas of lavender and fruity notes of black cherry. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, with a good persistence.
