SIDDURA

Literally "saddle", the Siddùra winery, at the foot of the medieval village of Luogosanto, is located in the north east of Sardinia, near the renowned Costa Smeralda. It is in this corner of Gallura that the tradition of Sardinian wine culture is renewed. Founded in 2008, it tells the story of the friendship between two entrepreneurs from very different sectors, but united by the passion for wine and Sardinia. The two partners decided to transform an abandoned but enchanting property into a luxuriant cellar, dedicating themselves to a deep and constant search of quality, perfection and harmony. The Siddùra vineyard covers 40 hectares, cultivated on land composed of a mixture of granite, sand and clay. The good temperature ranges, the breezy climate and the excellent irradiation of the hills preserve and enhance the unique characteristics of the grapes. Siddùra is attentive to the sustainability of production: in the vineyard the treatments are limited and targeted, many processes are carried out manually, grassing is practiced between the rows with the dual objective of limiting soil erosion and improving its structure. The vines grown are Vermentino, Cannonau, Cangulari, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The modern cellar, perfectly underground, sees spontaneous fermentation and aging in concrete tanks and French oak barrels. The close link of the winery with the territory is also underlined by the great attention paid to the choice of the names of the wines, which draw inspiration from Sardinian or Etruscan words. Vermentino di Gallura is called Spèra, which in Gallura dialect means "beam of light"; Vermentino Superiore di Gallura, Maìa or “magic” and Cannonau Fòla, “fairytale”. All Siddùra wines are characterized by purity and elegance and by a clear and impeccable style that makes them loved not only in Italy but also abroad. Proof of their quality are the excellent reviews of national and international critics and 400 awards won all over the world.
