Grattamacco

The name Grattamacco includes a unique group that expresses the best production of Tuscany. The brothers Maria, Iris and Claudio Tipa have created a true “domaine” through the years that includes three different estates that counts a surface of vineyards that covers 150 hectares. The first production reality was the castle of Colle Massari. It was born in 1998 and it is located in Montecucco, in Maremma. A fascinating place near Monte Amiata where more than 100 hectares are cultivated following the biological rules. Here the variety Sangiovese can express its extraordinary Mediterranean character, especially in Montecucco Rosso Riserva, a wine that praises a great quality level. Grattamacco was founded later, it was born in the 70s and became part of the group in 2002. Its name recalls the ancient name of the area of Bolgheri. This company came out immediately for the elegance of its products. 25 hectares in the northern coast of Tuscany, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot give wines with unforgettable depth and elegance.The last winery, Poggio di Sotto, was included in the group in 2011, but it was born at the end of the 80s. It is located not far from Montalcino. A unique winery that counts around 16 hectares and that can give to the wine lovers some of the most extraordinary Brunello ever produced.
