PRIMOSIC

The history of Primosic winery is inextricably linked to Collio, its land, its vineyards and its tradition. The name of the family Primosic is, in fact, for centuries among those of the most important vigneron of the Collio, since we find traces of it even in the Teresian cadastre. The barrels of the fine wines of the Collio, already at the time of the Habsburg Empire, took the road to Vienna. After the tragedies of the two world wars, in the '50s, there was a period of rebirth of Gorizia’s viticulture. In this scenario, Silvan Primosic, takes the reins of the company and bottles the first harvest in 1964. At the end of the '80s, The range of Primosic wines is enriched with the prestigious selections, the result of the enhancement of the best parcels of the estate. Primosic wines are children of tradition, passion and love for Collio, and express in a frank way the qualities of this wonderful terroir. Being able to count on plots divided between the territories of the municipalities of Lucinico, San Floriano del Collio, Villanova and Farra d'Isonzo, therefore falling both in the denomination of the Collio and in that of the Isonzo, are currently about twenty hectares owned by the company, to which are added four more for rent. Among the rows, the management of plants is conventional, but respectful to the maximum of what is the balance of environment, nature and ecosystem. In the hamlet of Oslavia, in the province of Gorizia, the vine variety to which the Primosic company devotes most attention is undoubtedly the Ribolla Gialla, which in Oslavia takes on connotations and characteristics that no other terroir can have. In the winery, the production processes are constantly controlled, and always trying to listen to everything the season and the territory have been able to express in the grapes, the production is currently divided into four different lines of labels, including the "Classics and Autochthons", "I Vigneti", "Le Riserva" and "La Collezione Privata".
