Produced with Negroamaro grapes and other vines in a smaller percentage, this Salice Salentino Cantalupi Riserva from the Salento Winery Conti Zecca comes from the Salice Salentino vineyards located near Lecce: here the soils are of alluvial origin, with a conspicuous presence of limestone. After the manual harvest the grapes are subjected to de-stemming and soft pressing, followed by a phase of maceration at a controlled temperature for a duration of 12 days: the fermentation takes place in steel while the maturation requires a stay in oak barrels.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
On the organoleptic examination it is characterized by an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections that become accentuated with aging. The olfactory notes recall red berried fruits and spices while on the palate it is harmonious and with a good persistence.
